Clean & Jerk 15-12- and 9 reps
Touch and go at floor only. Even a re-grip off the floor is a foul. No dumping. Use same load for each set. Rest as needed between sets.

this is a new one for me
gotta think about the weight
It is for me too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one since my start. Maybe I won’t take today off. It will only be day 8.
what is the weight? whatever you want?
What is the penalty for this foul? Time penalty? I am sure at some point I am going to need to reset my grip?
Gracias Amiga
Gwen who?
http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/faq.html#WOD0
I know all you curious kids wanna know more about this WOD. For answers refer to April 4, 2008 in the CrossFit mainpage archives.
135×1-hands weren’t warmed up enough for the load
95×12
95×9-the 95 was too light, but I worked on form
Virgin run, will know better next time
What Rob’s referring to:
http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/000549.html
I’m reading through some of the comments- does a foul mean you start over from zero, perhaps at a lower weight?
It seems like the idea is to get through the WOD and report the weight. (unlike something like AMRAP)
The idea is that the 15-12-9 represents three seperate sets that have no time component.
The load is constant.
During each set, the reps are consecutive touch and go.
Your hands must stay on the bar.
You may rest in the rack position, behind the head, in the hang.
If you ditch the bar or fail to touch and go, your round is over.
Record the weight you use and the reps you complete during each round.
Rest as needed.
If you attend class this evening I’m sure Thomi will say all the same stuff. But I’m bored and a CrossFit dork.
That was different. 125# for all the reps, much harder than I thought.
hey dork, i’m assuming this is push jerk, because i hate push jerk.
There’s nothing dorky about your teaching, Rob.
Thanks for the clarification. I’ve been thinking about my weight options all morning… (Who’s the crossfit dork again?)
yes Jason
push jerk.. in fact.. You should ALWAYS do push jerk.. until you love them.. because the day you love them will be the day you became proficient at them
Push jerk isn’t delineated as far as I know. It is however the more athletic of the two movements. So, yes.
42# Worked on form – still having issues w/ completing my dead before I shrug & clean – Thanks to Rob though my push jerk is great
. I could definitely handle more weight if I get my form down
Thomi- i will never love them, ever
robw- explain more athletic??
I really liked that one! Should’ve gone heavier though….wasn’t sure what to expect.
52#
Next time, Gwen, next time.
More athletic because it requires more flexibility and accuracy….
I too would like explanation of “more athletic” please
we will have to agree to disagree on that one
135 x 10 or 11, lost count.
115 x 12
115 x 9.
Squat cleans took it out of me.
40lb dbs
135lb only 13 on the first round, should not have taken my time……… first time on this one, interesting….
52# definitely an interesting one
72# i liked this one
35#
Will go heavier next time, but it still had me sweatin’!
My dog is having surgery tomorrow so I won’t be there.
See you guys Thursday.
135# no fouls. next time heavier
Rob… you’re the coolest dork I’ve ever met.
85# – shoulda gone to 95#
Did 6 reps at 95# for good measure. Strong work Andrew. Way to 1-up me.
PS – I feel cooler just by posting on this kick-ass website.
Adam, I feel ya. We’re sooo much cooler now
… I almost feel like I need a new name to post with. ‘Amanda’ is way too plain for this site. haha.
By more athletic, I mean more powerful. At max loads split jerk is better because of a larger base and reduced flexibility requirements. At lighter loads though, the turnover rate of the push jerk is much faster, rendering it by definintion, more powerful. Also, it requires, in my opinion, more of the 10 general physical skills. Its higher skill demand is probably why you like it less, and therefore, why you should do it more.
Burn!
95#
95# power cleans and no fouls.
rounded out the wod with 6 @ 115 and 3 @ 135. Definately will go heavier next time.
95#’s 15-12-9-6 It felt good to throw some weight and be in the box with everyone.
80# no fouls… definately more weight next time. for some reason i like this one
52#, I need to work on my deadlift form. Practice, practice & practice – here I come
75 pounds. I don’t think I warmed up until the second set.
Adam and I broke out 95 after the wod and agreed that’s where we should have been.
135×14 – dropped
135×12
135×9
Thomi – - in the main site video the guy was doing power cleans. What did everyone do there? I did SCs.
52# fun, fun
